We have a row of plum trees in our yard. They would produce the most delicious plums year after year. Then they just kind of stopped producing fruit. I did not know anything about them, so I called a tree service in Long Island to help us get them fruiting again. There was a lot of factors going into the trees not producing fruit any longer, and they were all pretty easy to correct. I originally thought they would just need to be cut down, or not expected to fruit anymore and just be left to do what trees do.
The tree service in Long Island told us that the taller maple trees were blocking too much sunlight, and the property of the soil was not conducive to fruiting trees. (more…)
